Bismillahirrahmanirrahim…
While i am not so busy with office work, i took this opportunity of using my ample time at the office to search (with the help of internet of course) for islamic materials available in the websites. Subhanallah, what can i say! I have just found out that there’s really a lot of islamic stuff available to grab in various websites. These people who developed this kind of great information put a lot of their effort to make sure that their visitor gains as much as possible from the websites.
Bravo and jazakallah!! May Allah Bless you guys for what they have done so far…
The internet era
Like it or not, internet has becoming one of the great tools to spread news among people. Look at the statistic below (Taken from http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm)
From the statistics above, it gives us several scenarios:
1. From Business point of view – it means “money,money,money”!
2. From Politicians point of view – it means, “O People of the world….Please vote me!”
3. From The travellers point of view – It means “I’m coming, people..!!”
4. From Hackers point of view – It means,”Showtime..!!”
and lots more of scenarios..
Histroy is a great teacher
I still remember the first hadeeth i managed to memorise before seriously involved in PAS islamic movement. Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H said:
“Whoever says “Lailahaillallah”, Da’ie(muslim preacher) he will be then..”
I am not a history lover. Infact, My SPM slip shows no grade for my history subject (i failed !!).
But things have changed.In fact, now i have been searching various references that could bring me to understand islam better through seerah nabawiyah and others that relates to the islamic dynasty. Now i realise that history is a great teacher in our life. Sometimes, we are being fooled by history that has been manipulated by those who want to see the ruined of muslims throughout the world. Definitely, you will find a lot of contradicting facts and figures on how history has been written. It is just the matter of searching the right information at the right source at the right time (of course).
Internet,islamic history and da’wah
So what exactly internet has to do with history, islam and da’wah? For me, one must learn and understand history before making steps in spreading islam through Da’wah.History repeats with time. He or she must know the objective of the da’wah itself, which is to create happiness and prosperity life in this world and afterlife. BUt the most important aspect in practising da’wah is ‘ar-ridhaulllah’, the Allah willingness of blessing to us mankind.
One also must know how can we practise dakwah. Generally in can be categorised in 5 diffrent methods:
1. Dakwah Fardiah — One to one, usually more specific
2. Dakwah Ammah — More General, not specific to one group
3. Dakwah bil-Lisan — Spreading words to people
4. Dakwah bil-Haal — Spreading good example to people
5. Dakwah bit-Tadwin — Spreading islam through writings.
6. Dakwah bil Hikmah — Wise and persuasive
Yet we also have to look at the history itself on what has been practising by previous sahabah radiyallahuanhu and other great islamic scholars on spreading the religion throughout the world. I still remember a bit on Malacca history, during those glorious time when Malacca was a centre of business within the region(Internet has not even exist at that time). These islamic scholars put themselves into business on selling goods to enter one country to spread and explain to people on the beautifulness of Islam. They travel thorughout the region to make sure that islam has to be known to the world. As a result, Malacca once being ruled by one Sultan who actually implements islamic laws to the state, and people at that time could feel how peaceful and great it is when the state is being rule by Islam.
Now,we could possibly go to other country to spread islam through da’wah without having the effort of getting a boat,plane and all mode of transportation. With this virtual transport called the internet, we could actually reach all over the world to spread islam through it. Isn’t that amazing? Nowadays, you can get anykinds of books and stuff available in the websites but one has to beware to have its own mursyid teacher as a reference, if not syaitan will be his tearcher (nauzubillah).
Hi-Tech Muslim combatant
I emphasize that this method is NOT ONLY THE WAY; it is just one of the way of out thousand of spreading islam. I believe that one can master the technology when internet is in his hand. I could not imagine that in one islamic movement, we could have muslim combatant that not only great in economy, politics, ad-deen, seerah, fiqh and fighting, but he or she also has great knowledge in technology. We should call it a ‘Hi-Tech Muslim Mujahideen’ then. At this point of time, that is where the concept of As-Syumuliah” comes to our life..
